The Virginia Fire Chiefs Foundation (VFCF) held the 5th Annual Roanoke Valley Golf Tournament on October 9th at the Hanging Rock Golf Club in Roanoke County.  It was a beautiful fall day in the Roanoke Valley, and everyone seemed to have a great time, even though this year’s event was a little different due to the COVID-19 precautions.  The course was in great shape and the staff at Hanging Rock served as great hosts.  The event raised a little over $9,500 for the Virginia Fire Chiefs Foundation.

SERVPRO of Roanoke, Montgomery & Pulaski Counties was the Title Sponsor for the event. Dick Singer was recognized for his very generous support of the event.  Other sponsors included Sure-Flo Inc. (Gold Sponsor), Keplinger Repair Service Inc. (Cart Sponsor), and John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home and Crematory (Beverage Cart Sponsor).  There were several other hole sponsors and several businesses donated items for the raffle.

We appreciate everyone who came out to the event and everyone who assisted with the tournament.  We would especially like to   thank Chick-Fil-A Salem and Mission Barbeque for generously providing delicious meals for the golfers.  We would also like to   recognize Lisa Bain of SERVPRO and Battalion Chief (ret) Eddie Hite who served on the planning committee for the tournament.  The funds raised will be used to support the Virginia Fire Officer Academy, Chief Officers Academy and to provide scholarships to   first responders and/or their immediate families. It was an outstanding event and we are already looking forward to next fall.
