VFCA Company Officers’ Summit Call for Keynote Speaker

November 14 th and 15 th 2019

The Company Officers’ Section of the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association is seeking a
Keynote Speaker for this year’s Company Officers’ Summit. The event will be held at
the Homewood Suites- Richmond Airport (5996 Audubon Dr, Sandston, VA 23150)
on Thursday, November 14 th and Friday, November 15 th . The time for the Summit on
Thursday will be from 8am to 5pm and Friday is planned to be from 8am to 2pm, but
may go until 5pm depending on presentations or if your keynote address/ presentation
would require a full 8 hours. We would like the keynote speaker to address the
participants from 1pm to 5pm on Thursday the 14 th and make time to stay after to
socialize with the participants in a more casual setting, however this time can be
adjusted to ensure the keynote presentation can be fully delivered. Your keynote
presentation time will dictate the rest of the scheduling for the Summit. Our request is
that the presentation in some way focuses on the “journey” of a Company Officer and
enjoying the roles and responsibilities along your progression in the Fire Service.
Furthermore, we would request ample time for a question and answer question with the
participants. Lodging and meals are covered for the keynote speaker.

The Mission Statement of the Company Officer Section is: The VFCA Company
Officer’s Section facilitates mentorship and succession planning for future
fire service leaders through education, leadership and advocacy.

- We prefer that any presentation would embody our Mission Statement and
incorporate one or more of our Values in your presentation
- Please provide a brief biography
- Please provide the title and an outline and summary of what would be covered in
your presentation. 
- Please advise of any special AV needs for the presentation.
- Please advise of any financial requirements (charges) and reimbursements you
will need paid to you or covered (i.e. airfare, accommodations, etc.)
- Would you be willing to have candid photos taken and posted to Social Media?
- Are we allowed to Facebook Live your presentation?

All the requested information needs to be submitted by 5pm on May 15, 2019. All
