About the Virginia Fire Officer Academy
The Virginia Fire Officer Academy is a week-long residential program designed to develop current or aspiring company officers. The theme of the VFOA is “Safety Through Leadership” and is based on the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives. The program is focused on improving leadership techniques, personal accountability, and fostering the cultural change required to improve firefighter safety.
This program could not exist without the support of the members and partners of the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association and the Virginia Fire Chiefs Foundation. You can donate to the Virginia Fire Officers Academy through the Foundation either by mail or online. All donations are tax-deductible.
All alumni of the VFOA are encouraged to check out the Facebook page for the Virginia Fire Officer Academy’s Alumni and for the VFCA-Company Officer Section. You will find all the updates about the VFOA on these pages. We also would like to see your support by joining the Virginia Fire Chief Associations Company Officer Section. A portion of the membership fee helps fund training programs offered for company officers. You also receive all the amenities offered to you as a member of the VFCA. Join online today.
